Marlina Duncan, EdD, will provide as the vice chancellor for range and inclusion at UMass Clinical University, starting Dec. 28, in accordance to an announcement from Chancellor Michael F. Collins.
Dr. Duncan will join UMMS from Brown College, where by she is the assistant vice president of educational range in Brown’s Office environment of Institutional Fairness and Range and affiliate dean of range initiatives in the Graduate School at Brown. Prior to becoming a member of Brown, Duncan directed diversity initiatives, education and learning and outreach plans at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.
“In her current position, Dr. Duncan is a thought chief and reliable advisor to directors, faculty and learners,” reported Chancellor Collins. “Signature achievements for the duration of her tenure at Brown include taking part in an integral position in Brown’s Pathways to Variety and Inclusion Motion Prepare, a university-vast variety and inclusion blueprint and accountability system is a member of the university’s Range Advisory Board and partnering with senior leaders to establish, execute and refine ongoing division-unique procedures to enrich diversity, equity and inclusion.”
When she joins UMMS as vice chancellor and a member of the senior leadership crew, Duncan will oversee the Range and Inclusion Place of work and associate with variety leaders across the institution’s a few schools, business models, and academic and administrative departments to be certain the goals and milestones outlined in the Professional medical School’s Affect 2025 strategic strategy are met, and that diversity and inclusion continue to be at the forefront of the Medical School. Duncan will collaborate carefully with the vice provost for wellness equity, provide as an skilled resource for range-connected coaching and guide initiatives to enrich campus culture.
Duncan commenced her job in science schooling, operating as interim co-principal and instruction director at a K-8 constitution college in Springfield. She directed the Northeast Alliance for Graduate Education and learning and the Professoriate at UMass Amherst and was an assistant professor of science training at Fayetteville Condition University in North Carolina adhering to the completion of her Doctorate of Training-Science Training diploma at UMass Amherst.
